The path along the Barragán River, known as the Senda da Fraga do Río Barragán, is a very picturesque hiking route in Galicia. This circular route begins and ends in Xunqueiras, in the municipality of Pazos de Borbén.😎🚶‍♂️🌄

Only remains of buildings surrounded by stone remain from the Iron Age settlement of Castro de Troña. Like many that once were spread throughout this area of the Iberian Peninsula. The wooden roofs covered with grass and willows are long gone, but one can imagine everyday life in this village.

Incredibly well preserved 11th century defensive castle in the mountains above Tui and the Miño valley.

A tributary of the Oitavén River that acts as a natural border between the municipalities of Fornelos de Montes and Pazos de Borbén. It houses a hiking itinerary (PR-G 164 or Senda da Fraga do Barragán). It stands out for its closed riverside forest landscape, and also for its cultural and ethnographic aspects. You can find canals, mills, bridges, cobbled paths, etc., which demonstrate the importance of the river in the lives of the residents.

The path next to the Barragán river runs through the parishes of Pazos de Borbén and Fornelos de Montes. The Fragas del Barragán route (PR-G164) was created and strengthened in 2011. The route runs through one of the best-preserved oceanic forests in the province of Pontevedra
