You should not go here through the recommended tours on Komoot. The path from Santiago de Teide is officially closed (as people mentioned above, because of construction works). You will end up on an unofficial path and when you reach an intersection you will see that the path you came from is closed. Would not recommend, it was not the only one that was closed, but Komoot still highlights tours on them.

The beginning of the path is no longer accessible due to tunnel construction work, but a beaten path leads along the site fence to the original path.

The first part of the track is closed due to building of tunel. Probably for couple of years. I was forsed to climb a steep mountain without any track. It is not convinient. Anyway, the rest of the track is very impresive. The views are fantastic. It can be rainy and windy on the top. Be prepared.
