Llera is literally in the middle of nowhere, located in an area difficult to define near the Sierras de Hornachos. Dry and devoid of trees and vegetation, there are plenty of dusty trails to explore.

Hinojosa del Valle is a small rural town on the Badajoz plain. Surrounded by fields of cereals and sheep farming, the fertile grounds of this valley are home to fantastic gravel trails.

The incredible nature reserve of the Sierra Grande de Hornachos rises above the valley of the Matachel River. The Mirador del Peñón de Marín is the highest point with 850 meters above sea level. Spectacular views of the landscape below.

Adventure along gravel roads along old cattle tracks, you will reach the ruins of a fortified Roman settlement dating from the 2nd century, situated on a small hill in the Matachel Valley.

At the foot of the Sierra Grande de Hornachos we will arrive at the town of Hornachos. Its most important monument, the Iglesia de la Purísima Concepción, towers over the city.

The trails that lead to the Sierra de Hornachos with its steep rocky wall exposed to the passage of time. Upon reaching the plateau are the ruins of the Castle of Hornachos. The views over the surrounding valley are incredible.

Very nice path through the waters of the Matachel river. This landscape changes throughout the year depending on rainfall. This path blooms in spring after the rains.

The town of Hornachos rises on the same mountain range that carries the snow up to the highest point, the Iglesia de la Purísima Concepción. From this point you can see the entire population and landscape in the background and above, the castle that bears the same name as the nucleus, on the massif.
