7월 7, 2023, Cangas de Onís Town Center
Cangas de Onís is a town and a municipality in the eastern part of Asturias, Spain. It is the capital of the area of the same name, and it lies in the valley formed by the rivers Sella and Güeña. Cangas de Onís has a rich history, as it was the first capital of the Kingdom of Asturias in the 8th century. It is also the place where the battle of Covadonga took place in 722, marking the beginning of the Christian reconquest of Spain from the Muslims. You can visit the nearby Covadonga Sanctuary, where you can see the cave where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to King Pelayo, and the basilica dedicated to her. One of the most emblematic monuments of Cangas de Onís is its Roman Bridge, which crosses the Sella River. It was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1931, and it has five arches, three of them pointed. From the centre of the bridge hangs a reproduction of the Victoria Cross, a symbol of Asturias. Another interesting building is the Chapel of Santa Cruz, built on a dolmen in 437 and rebuilt several times over the centuries.

7월 5, 2023, Puente sobre el río Cares
The bridge over the Rio Cares is a road bridge that is part of the Carretera Cangas de Onís - Panes, a road with the number AS-114 that connects the municipalities of Cangas de Onís and Peñamellera Baja, in Asturias, Spain. The bridge is located near the village of Puente Poncebos, where the Rio Cares flows into the Rio Duje. The bridge is a viewpoint with spectacular views of the river and canyon, which are part of the Picos de Europa National Park. The bridge is also a starting point for several hiking and cycling routes, such as the famous Ruta del Cares, which runs along the river between Puente Poncebos and Caín, or the route to Bulnes, a mountain village that can only be reached on foot or by cable car . The bridge was built in 1921 as part of a project to build a road between Cangas de Onís and Panes. The road was completed in 1935, but was badly damaged during the Spanish Civil War. The road was later repaired and improved and is now an important link between the eastern and western parts of Asturias.

The church was built in the 13th century and is considered one of the most emblematic monuments of the city. Don Pelayo was an Asturian nobleman who led the resistance against the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula in the 8th century. He is considered one of Spain's national heroes and is credited with founding the kingdom of Asturias, of which he was its first king. The connection between the Church of the Assumption and Don Pelayo lies in the fact that it is believed that the church was built on the place where the Battle of Covadonga took place, led by Don Pelayo in the year 722, which is considered the first victory of the Christians. on Muslims in the Iberian Peninsula. In this way, the church becomes an important place of pilgrimage for Asturians and for lovers of Spanish history.
