Construction of the three-aisled church, made of volcanic rock of different colours, began around 1520. The late Gothic main façade dates back to the 16th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries, structural changes were made in the Baroque style and the central nave was renovated in the 19th century. The two bell towers were only built in the 20th century. The Flemish retable of the high altar, which was created around 1500, is of artistic historical importance in the interior of the church.

The Church of Santa Lucía is a historic-artistic building located in the upper part of the town, built in 1905. It is characterized by a beautiful façade made of carved stone and by its white dome, which gives it an unmistakable silhouette.

Beautifully located café right on the picturesque Plaza del Rosario. Great cakes and coffee, but also savory food and beer. Rightly so popular with bikers of all stripes - especially racing bike riders! Definite stop-off tip in beautiful Agüimes.
