From this bridge over the Segura River there are spectacular views.

Although the tunnel is marked as ‘closed - no passage’, this tour perfectly rounds off the destination dam – impressive gorge and structure.

Pico de los Almeces, at 1,123 meters, is the highest point in the Sierra de Ricote mountain range. Reaching it is a challenge for hiking enthusiasts, but the reward is well worth it: breathtaking panoramic views, unspoiled nature, and a unique sense of accomplishment. The circular route is approximately 17 km long, with an elevation gain of 770 meters. It begins on the outskirts of the town of Ricote and winds through stunning natural landscapes, passing through pine forests, rosemary bushes, and trails that meander through the mountains.

On your way back through town, be sure to admire the giant, ball-shaped rock next to the houses. Unfortunately, I'm already back in Germany and can't take a picture.

I really liked this route, except for the return trip, which went through the town. I would have returned the same way I came.

The short detour to the viewpoint, which leads up behind the small chapel on a path, is absolutely worth it!
