Fantastic old Monestir. It’s hard to imagine it’s thát old. Somehow it made me think of the James Bond movie Skyfall. Definitely worth a visit. Last part of the road is unpaved. For that part the Gravelbike or an MTB is the best choice

The Castell de Requesens is a remote but beautiful semi-preserved castle, situated in the hills of the Albera Mountains that separate Spain from France, just east of La Jonquera 6 km from Cantalops.

The Romanesque church of Santa Maria was converted into a farmhouse in the 18th century, known as the Mas de l'Església Vella. Most of the original structures have been preserved.

Sant Martí de Vallmala or Fontanet was an old parish church located in the foothills of Puig d'Esquers, in the hamlet of La Valleta, municipality of Llançà. The first mention of the temple is in a diploma of Louis the Balbus of 877 which confirms the temple as a possession of the monastery of Sant Esteve de Banyoles. In 1019 it was consecrated by the bishop of Elna, Berenguer. In the 14th century it still appears as a parish, but at some point it ceased to be so and probably also caused it to lose its cult and collapse, which made it disappear until 1975 when it was located and published, as well as some initial work of clearing and cleaning it.[1] The church has a rectangular plan with an apse also rectangular, but in this case it is irregular. It is oriented east-west and only the vault, worn out, in the apse, which seems older than the rest of the construction, is preserved. The north and west walls are also preserved, while the south was practically collapsed. With the remains of this wall it was possible to see where the door was located and with materials found in the same place it was rebuilt. The voussoirs of the door show that it is later than the rest of the temple. In 1987, during consolidation and restoration works, a Romanesque wrought iron lamp of great value was found, which is preserved in the Girona Art Museum. This fact seems to show that the temple collapsed and from that moment on it was abandoned. In 1986 consolidation works were carried out and the path that goes up from the Valleta stream was cleaned, and a track was opened.
