One of the most "pyramidal" mountains in the area.

The ascent of Gorbeia leaves Egiriñao along the path that climbs towards the symbol of Basque mountaineering. The geographical summit is a mountain with disproportionate slopes compared to the steep calcareous towers, lapiaz cliffs and sharp limestone pyramids that define most of the peaks of the Gorbeia massif. Access from Pagomakurre is the "easiest" route to reach the emblematic peak and there are always mountaineers on this stretch. The path climbs through a meadow near a small ravine that usually has water all year round and continues along a fairly steep ramp to the pass that separates the Gorbeia and the Aldamin. The ascent to the great stone milestone of Aldamin (1,373 m) takes about fifteen minutes along some rocky steps. The panorama is fantastic. The final ascent of Gorbeia (1,482 m) climbs through the meadow on the north face, with a spring before the top, and culminates in the roof of the trek.
