The tower is one of the thirteen coastal surveillance towers whose construction was ordered in 1575 by Vespasiano Gonzaga, Viceroy of Valencia, on the orders of Philip II, to organize the defense of the Valencian coast against attacks by the Turks and Berbers. Mainly pirates who landed on the coasts, invaded, destroyed crops, looted towns and took prisoners. The defense system was regulated by decrees that came into force in the 16th and 17th centuries. With this particular tower it was possible to control the area between the Alfándec Tower in Tabernes de Valldigna and the now missing tower in the Grao de Gandía. The historic tower is located on the right bank of the mouth of the Vaca River.

Beautiful lookout tower that is located at the top of the mouth of the Xeracó River, probably in this wet area and built to see beyond in past times of pirates and little control.

This path that passes along the canal becomes the waters of the Vaca or Xeracó River, a river that ends at the beach of the nucleus that has the same name in an area of agricultural fields and wetlands where thanks to the canal it has been possible control the movement of its meanders before entering the throat of the river itself. Nice ride!

The Vaca River, also called the Xeraco River, flows into the sea at this place. This is one of the two mouths, another is in the north of Xeraco. You can surround this town following the course of the river, enjoying the walk along its banks and observing its flora and fauna. You can see different birds and turtles.

Beautiful, long beach (you can reach Gandía), with golden sand. It has a family atmosphere, it is quieter, recommended all year round.

L'Esquellot, in Spanish the cowbell, is located at the top of the Ferragut Rock. We can get there by two paths from behind the Safor service area, next to the BP gas station on the E-15 at the height of Xeraco. L'Esquellot is located there thanks to a challenge that the Xeraco mountain club (Club Muntanyer Xeraco) once placed, to encourage people to climb the mountain and ring the bell. From this point we have magnificent views of the sea, we can also see the town of Xeraco, the Vaca River that flows towards the sea, and the Guaita de Xeraco tower.

Incredible views of the valley and the sea on the horizon. The PR-CV 188 route that begins near the Font de l'Ull recreational area is a very picturesque route and at the same time less crowded than the routes through the Sierra Quatretonda. Highly recommended.

This viewpoint gives its name to the short route of the Xeraco town hall. From the height of 396 m we can see the mountains at our feet.
