Definitely a highlight, but unfortunately, the castle was covered in scaffolding when I visited. The castle dates back to the Middle Ages but was later almost completely rebuilt.

It is the home stadium of Spanish first division club Athletic Bilbao and was opened in 2013 to replace the old San Mamés Stadium. With a capacity of 53,331 seats, it is the largest stadium in the Basque Country and the seventh largest in Spain. The stadium is also known as "La Catedral."
