The Cathedral of Reims is a magnificent example of Gothic art and an important symbol of French history. It is the place where most of the kings of France were crowned, from Clovis I to Charles X. It is also the place where Joan of Arc accompanied the Dauphin to be crowned king. The cathedral is richly decorated with more than 2,300 statues, including the famous smiling angel. It also has beautiful stained glass windows, some from the Middle Ages and some from the 20th century, created by artists such as Marc Chagall. The cathedral has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991 and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Reims

The television series "Treasures of the World – Heritage of Humanity" presents culturally interested viewers with UNESCO World Heritage sites from all eras and continents in quarter-hour segments (in German).
