Lac de la Raho near Perpignan is a popular recreational lake in southern France. Surrounded by vineyards and Mediterranean countryside, it offers trails for hiking, cycling, and jogging. The lake lies in a deflation pan. This is a natural, circular, shallow depression caused by the removal of relatively loose, primarily Pliocene, sediment by wind erosion during very cold, windy phases of the Quaternary.

A beautiful reserve for birds, but we can only note the drop in the water level. Very nice bars/restaurants for a relaxing break at the Villeneuve de la Raho lake. The tour of the large lake is not particularly difficult in Gravel

Various parking spaces make the lake very easy to reach and on days when it is not always sunny you can go on a great hike with the family. There are plenty of places to sit and benches and you can even have a relaxed picnic here because there are rubbish bins everywhere. Finally, there is also the option of stopping off on the side of the town for a bite to eat or a drink.
