Close to Lichére, a short detour to the unmissable village of Aunac sur Charente, a relaxing break with all shops: bakery, pastry shop, bar, restaurant, general food with local products, butcher, delicatessen, camping, canoeing, guinguette!!

Footbridge which allows you to cross the Charente, which swells the waters of the beautiful Lavaud Gelade lake. It is one of the largest lakes in the Creuse, after Lake Vassivière. Wilder than the latter, it is located in the heart of the Millevaches Regional Natural Park and is classified as a Natura 2000 area.

Wooden ferry from Lichères, which allows you to cross the Charente. A cable stretched across both banks allows hikers to cross the waters independently. Please note, the ferry may be immobilized during the harshest winter months. You will then have to return to the bridge, a little further south.

Old Bridge

This medieval city is labeled "Small city of character". And for good reason ! The streets of the heart of the city are full of half-timbered houses. The ramparts, the Vieux bridge, the Goire bridge, the Romanesque churches and the mansions affirm the undeniable charm of Confolens. Located at the confluence of the Vienne and the Goire, the city offers many water activities to visitors.

The Mas Chaban lake is a water retention which is mainly used for agriculture. It is also home to a rich fauna that you can observe from the banks of the body of water. It is formed by the flow of the Molde which flows a little further into the Charente. With Lake Lavaud, it forms the lakes of Haute-Charente.

problem is, this is not in use or available until at least april, so you can't cross the river here in the winter months
