A true insider tip, you can spend a few hours exploring here, rummaging through the ruins to your heart's content, and dreaming about what it used to look like. Everything is nestled in an idyllic valley. The village above is a bit sleepy, but charming. Since we were completely alone here, we liked it better than the more touristy Tours de Merle.

The Saint-Blaise Bridge is a magnificent medieval sandstone structure dating back to the 13th century. It played a major role for merchants and pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela, allowing them to cross the Aveyron all year round.

Livinhac is known primarily for its agricultural produce. One dish that is now offered again in the restaurants here is estofinado. This is made from dried cod, which is chopped and mixed with mashed potatoes. Eggs, cream, and nut oil are added. Don't miss it!
