The Romanesque Priory of Serabonna (founded in 1082) is a masterpiece of sculpture. Good and evil clash on the capitals. The building materials, such as marble, slate, and iron, came from the surrounding area.

Although small and modest, the chapel has a rustic charm with stone walls and a tiled gable roof, common features of medieval buildings in the region. Inside, it surely features simple religious elements, but full of popular devotion. Like many of the chapels in the area, the Chapelle Saint-Amans may have undergone restorations over the centuries to keep it in good condition, as the climatic conditions of the mountains can affect old structures.

Dedication to Saint Amans: The chapel is dedicated to Saint Amans (Saint Amantius), a 5th-century saint who was the first bishop of the town of Rodez in southwestern France. Saint Amantius is venerated as a protector against storms and natural calamities, so his cult was common in several rural regions of southern France.

The interpretation of its sculptures is still extensive problematic.
