Beautiful old town tucked away. The decorative spire twinkling in the sunlight made us detour to take a look. So glad we did! Stunning town with numerous patisseries & cafes and plenty of places to sit in the sunshine & watch the world go by. Highly recommended 👌

Cimetière Militaire Français du Wettstein The Cimetière Militaire Français du Wettstein, located on the Col du Wettstein near Orbey, is an impressive French military cemetery from the First World War. It contains the remains of 3,535 French soldiers, mainly mountain chasseurs, who died during the fierce fighting at Le Linge in 1915. Many of them are buried in two ossuaries. The site is marked by a monumental cross with the inscription "PAX" and a bronze statue of a dying soldier, which gives the whole a subdued and poignant atmosphere. This necropolis, also known as the “cemetery of the chasseurs”, is a silent witness to the horrors of war and a place of reflection in the middle of the mountain landscape.

A visit to the Hochkönig Castle is extremely interesting and should definitely be on the agenda when visiting Alsace. You just have to be aware that you are not looking at an original medieval castle, but rather a very beautiful, but more imaginative than historically sound, extension from the imperial era.

Magnificent views await you during this climb. However, be careful as this remains a very touristy road during the season.

To do, the landscapes are magnificent, the road is good. Nevertheless prefer the off-season, the road is very busy in summer.
