The Vallée des Cailles Regional Nature Reserve covers more than 45 hectares of dry valleys, limestone lawns and woods on the edge of the Dreux forest. You will be able to admire the rich biodiversity of the site which is home to five habitats of community interest including a priority habitat of meso-xerophilic lawn. You will also be able to discover traces of human occupation from the Paleolithic to the Neolithic, as well as the remains of a brickworks and a quarry from the 19th century.

Mézières-Écluzelles water body is an artificial lake which constitutes the largest body of water in the region. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds. You can circle the lake on a 5 km trail, or explore the marshes on the east side. The Mézières-Écluzelles lake is an ideal place to relax and admire the natural beauty of the region.

History and architecture lovers will appreciate the Château de la Robetiėre in Dreux. This is a former royal castle which dates from the 12th century and was the seat of the Counts of Dreux, a branch of the Capetian dynasty. The castle was destroyed by the English in 1421 during the Hundred Years War, but some of its ruins are still visible, such as an old defense tower. The Château de la Robetiėre in Dreux is a fascinating destination for a historical and cultural hike.
