The Église Saint-Valère in Saint-Vallier looks back on a history spanning some 800 years, which is clearly evident in the various construction phases. Particularly striking is the flamboyant Gothic choir, where members of the Diane de Poitiers family are buried. Inside, numerous old paintings, stained-glass windows, and processional banners enrich the atmosphere, making the church both a historical monument and a vibrant place of worship.

Saint-Vallier's town hall stands today on the former site of an old priory and was rebuilt in the 19th century. Its architectural style features classical elements, simple yet dignified, with traditional window frames and formal structure. The town hall serves as the vibrant center of the municipality: administration, citizen services, and local engagement all converge here in a central location.

I have seen it several times and it is truly a unique monument 🙂

Unique in the world, the Palais Idéal has inspired artists for over a century. Independent of any artistic movement, built without any architectural rules, the Palais Idéal was admired by the Surrealists. In 1969, it was classified as a Historic Monument by André Malraux, then Minister of Culture, as a work of naive art.

A lovely resting place with tables, benches and trees. It is wonderfully quiet and has a wonderful view.
