Don't underestimate this tour! Walking time ascent 3 hours, descent 2 hours. A bit of rock scrambling.

Located at 1,520 meters above sea level, it is the first refuge of the GR 20. It has 32 places in total with many pitches for tents in its surroundings. It dominates the valley over which it offers breathtaking views.

After the spring there are various beautiful places for those who do not want to spend the night at the refuge!

Here you can end the evening beautifully and enjoy the sight!

At the refuge that burned down in 2019, you can camp again without restrictions. There is no dormitory but there are many rental tents. The shop and the restaurant were provisionally rebuilt. There are new toilets and even hot showers! The two outdoor camping kitchens with gas stoves are located above the showers in the forest. You will find a spring with drinking water if you follow the GR 20 about 200 meters further. We chose the campsite at the very bottom above the gorge and were rewarded with a magnificent sunset, even though we arrived here in thick fog.
