Small but nice

When SUPing, you have to be careful of motorboats. Not all boats are considerate of hand-powered watercraft.

From the edge of the trail you can access this ruin of an old abandoned fort.

Accessible from a beautiful rocky path in the middle of the scrubland and box trees, this viewpoint is magnificent: you can see L'Île-Rousse, the island of Pietra and the sea.

It dates from the 3rd quarter of the nineteenth century, the time of the reign of Napoleon III. It is located on the highest point of the island of La Pietra, connected by a link to L'Ile-Rousse. It signals the entrance to the north-west coast of Corsica. The so-called "Pietra" lighthouse is part of the second wave of installations that have disappeared in Corsica, along with that of Ajaccio in particular. The current lighthouse is a square tower with a square base in the center, made of smooth masonry, painted white, with a lantern painted green. Attached to it is a small security house powered by solar panels and automated.
