Start of a very nice walk

The Giussani, a high valley in the Balanin hinterland, is perched at an average altitude of 800 meters. A network of marked and maintained paths allows you to discover the many Genoese bridges, built between the 13th and 18th centuries. These stone bridges were used to facilitate the transport of food, but also trade between isolated municipalities.

This Genoese path leads to the bridge and the natural pools of Mausoleo. This ancient path winds through lush Mediterranean vegetation, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Going down to the river, you will discover a charming stone bridge from the Genoese period. Further on, the natural pools with crystal clear waters invite you to take a refreshing swim.

The road surface to Bocca di a Battaglia has been completely renewed - as of September 2023 - and can be ridden perfectly even with the most delicate racing bike tires.

Cozy restaurant/hostel with extremely friendly staff. The three-part menu du jour was 25, which is fitting for the quality and location. Excellent destination for the (strong) hike from Asco and certainly not our last time there. If you arrive late or collapse on site, you can look forward to the guest rooms in the house.

A good alternative to Mont Tollu if there is a risk of thunderstorms
