In one of the large rooms of the Château de Langeais, the wedding of Charles VIII and Anne of Brittany took place at dawn on December 6, 1491, before a small audience. This wedding marked the beginning of the duchy's annexation to the French royal house.

This church, built between 1844 and 1848 by the chalandoux (the name for the Loire boatmen in Anjou), is the work of architect Joly Letherme. The church overlooks the Loire and the two bell towers with lanterns serve as beacons for boatmen sailing up or down the Loire. Source Wikipedia
