This castle ruin is spectacularly situated on a rock spur high above the valley of the Tarn. Thanks to its position, which controls the entrance to the gorges of the Tarn, it was one of the most important castles in the area. The fortress, which dates back to the 12th century, was the scene of numerous battles and sieges until 1633 when it was razed to the orders of Cardinal Richelieu (the villain of the 3 to 4 musketeers). The castle ruin has been restored in recent decades and is open during the summer months for a fee. Self-employed or managed. Adults 5 €. During the season partly "medieval entertainment", video screenings and "children's entertainment".
