La Croix de Wihr is a memorial cross at an altitude of about 800 metres, located between Labaroche and Hohrod in the Vosges. It marks the site of a French ambush on 19 August 1914, during the early stages of the First World War, in which around 300 soldiers were killed – 21 on the French side and more than 250 on the German side.

The Grand Hohnack, not to be confused with the famous Hohneck, is not the most famous of the Vosges mountains. Its summit and the very wooded path that leads to it are nonetheless magical. It is possible to appreciate the surrounding landscape through the many trees that cover it. A very good hiking destination from the Trois-Épis.

Interesting trail which offers a very beautiful view towards the Grand Ballon.

Near the Col de Petit Ballon, the path leads to Metzeral and Breitenbach or to the valley of La Fecht over a mountain ridge with impressive rock formations. This rocky path at over 1110 m high stretches from the Kegelritz to the Grothkopf with the 1177 m high Steinberg in the middle. From everywhere, in addition to striking rocks, there are wonderful views in all directions of the Vosges, especially of the nearby Petit Ballon in the southeast and, in the opposite direction, of the 1,363 m high Hohneck in the northwest.
