Not much is left of the castle. The dungeon described on the sign can only be guessed at. However, the place may have been well suited as a vantage point - the view of the Lauchtal and the Rhine plain are very beautiful

Schwartzenburg Castle, also called Schwarzenberg, is a castle ruin located on a rocky promontory 510 meters above sea level east of the town of Munster and not far from Griesbach-au-Val. It is located in the heart of the forest of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, in the Haut-Rhin department. It can be reached via a marked path from Schrankenfels Castle or from the southern entrance to Munster.
