The K hydroelectric power plant on Rhine Island is a modern facility that is part of the region's renaturation project. It was commissioned by EDF as part of the renewal of the Kembs2 hydroelectric concession. This 8.4 MW power plant is equipped with two turbine units capable of generating a maximum flow rate of 90 m³/s, producing approximately 28 million kWh per year. It plays a key role in the energy transition by providing CO₂-free electricity, while also contributing to the preservation of local biodiversity through its mechanisms that allow the circulation of aquatic species and feed the flow of the Little Rhine.

The Petit Rhin is a waterway located in the heart of Rhine Island, in the Petite Camargue Alsacienne Nature Reserve. It was created as part of a renaturation project aimed at restoring emblematic landscapes of Alsace and promoting the return of biodiversity. 7 km long, it crosses Rhine Island for 3.5 km before flowing into the Vieux Rhin, providing a privileged route for aquatic species.

The Mathieu Ritter Observatory is a beautiful observation point, but it is a bit remote for those who want to capture detailed images of wildlife.
