The Odilienberg (763m) is a special mountain in Alsace. Saint Ottilie, the eponym, is the patron saint of Alsace and eyesight. The Hohenburg Monastery is on the mountain and you have a fantastic view of the Upper Rhine Plain.

Famous monastery with great views. The church is very pretty. 2 small chapels with beautiful mosaic vaults. It is remarkable that people stick to the silence requirement.

On the large terrace of the monastery is the Gnomonic monument, which contains several sundials. Built in the 18th century, the monument dates back to the former Neuburg Abbey near Hagenau.
