Nemours Castle was built starting in the 12th century. In 1926, the castle was listed as a historic monument in France. It is located on the left bank of the Loing River and near the old bridge, allowing it to serve as a defense for the town and a watchtower for the bridge. The fortress-like castle was rebuilt in the 15th and 17th centuries.

Surrounded by greenery, this historic lock offers a peaceful setting where you can watch pleasure boats slowly pass by. The towpath, perfect for bike rides, runs alongside the canal, lined with trees and meadows.

From Prehistory to the Middle Ages without forgetting the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI, Nemours has an exceptional historical heritage. Largely crossed by the Loing and its canal, the town owes a large part of its charm to water.

Superb landscape on the Scandiberian that I discovered for the first time and which takes you from Tondheim in Norway to Santiago de Compostela.

Very good bike path, paved most of the way, nicely flat and hard the rest of the time too. Very wild, only a few houses around, very quiet, you can do 100 km on this towpath without leaving it
