Niederbronn-les-Bains is one of the leading towns for outdoor activities in the Northern Vosges Mountains. Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails crisscross the town. Nearby are several points of interest, such as Wasenbourg Castle and the Grand Winterberg, the highest peak in the Vosges massif. And for those who enjoy longer trips, several hotels and a campsite are available in the town, all within a charming natural and historical setting.

And every bunker had a squat toilet.

It's incredible that the gable walls and columns from the 16th century are still standing today.

On July 25, 1870, during the Franco-Prussian War, Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, along with eleven other men, was assigned to a reconnaissance patrol in Alsace, France, to determine the enemy's troop strength. He was initially captured by French troops, but managed to escape and reach Palatinate soil near Hirschthal. From there, he continued through the Wegelnburg area to Nothweiler. A villager helped him water his horse at the well, which is why the well has been named after it ever since.

The village center features a community center and fountain. Information panels about the local history can be found on the walls of the houses.
