Perfect round trips by bike or short detours on foot around the Col D' Ey with wonderful views

Rochebrune is a small perched village, lost between wooded hills. The long cobbled streets reveal restored houses with their gardens bordered by dry stone walls. The village has managed to keep its authenticity. At the top we find the tower of the old 14th century castle, the church and a breathtaking view of the Rieu Frais valley.

The village of Saint-Jalle is fortified at the foot of its castle. Dominating the course of the Ennuye, the castle is the first visible element of the castral village coming from the west. In the center of the village, the chapel of the Penitents is a discreet building, identifiable by its bell tower. Built in the 17ᵉ century, it houses a mural depicting Christ on the cross, surrounded by kneeling penitents. Among the most remarkable religious buildings in the Drôme, the Notre-Dame de Beauvert church, with its bell tower and sculpted portal.

The Col d'Ey from Buis les Baronnies is 8.3 km long with a total drop of 370 m. The average gradient is 4.46% with maximum gradients of 7%.

Small pass (718m) with wonderful views, including Mont Ventoux, on the south side.

The Col d'Ey, however low (718 meters above sea level), has a panorama worthy of the greatest passes! Its view of the north face of Ventoux is like a shock, as the vision is sublime. You feel like the switchbacks in the road are leading you straight there. An intense jubilation takes you during the beautiful descent that follows. I recommend that you climb the pass via Saint-Jalles, and do the descent which leads to Buis-les-Barronies.
