Breathtaking and incredible view of the Annecy basin.

It's a must-see in the Annecy basin! Mont Baron peaks at 1,299 meters above sea level, just a little higher than its neighbor Mont Veyrier. From there, you have a superb view of the lake, Annecy, the Semnoz, and the Entrevernes mountain in particular.

Please note that since 2024, a decree prohibits access to the parking lot and prevents parking along the road. They pass by and issue fines otherwise.

Beautiful view of the lake. Roughly 2hr round trip to hike/scramble up and descend back down.

Beautiful walk. The climb up cannot be described as an accessible path; it's a lot of scrambling. It also goes up very steeply. This does not alter the fact that the view at the top is fantastic, both over (lake) Annecy and to the other side towards Mont Blanc. The way back is a well-maintained path.

It is a pretty pass located at an altitude of 1170 meters. From there, we have a beautiful view of Annecy, the lake and the ridge line leading to Mont Veyrier and Mont Baron.

The "Col des Sauts" lookout point is at approx. 1120 m. There is a rest bench, but there are also shady spots on the rocks.
