A very nice border village to relax in after a bike ride (from Geneva in our case). We spent the afternoon and a night camping near the lake. Shops nearby for supplies 👍

The route up from Biere on the Swiss side is a solid steady climb with a few 12% and 13% sections. Traffic is quite light and the road is excellent. The trees give some nice protection from the sun and wind. Crossing the col northwards takes you down to the Vallé de Joux on a pretty steep decent with great corners and some short straights. My brakes made sounds I have never heard before! I did this and Col de Mollendrux together for a great 80k / 1,500 m ride. Recommended.

La Cure is on the border with France. Following numerous border changes, several buildings have one foot in Switzerland and the other in France. This is particularly the case of the Franco-Swiss hotel located astride the border.

The Franco-Swiss hotel or Arbez hotel, nicknamed Arbézie, is a hotel-restaurant in the village of La Cure cut by the border between France and Switzerland. It is shared between the commune of Rousses in the department of Jura, in France, and the commune of Saint-Cergue in the canton of Vaud, in Switzerland. It has also been a micronation since 1958.

It is a typical Jura village. It benefits from a lot of sporting and cultural activities. It is the starting point for many hikes. It is located on the route of the Grande Traversée du Jura or GTJ (https://www.gtj.asso.fr/). To be discovered in all seasons, whether on foot, by bike, by mountain bike, by snowshoes or by ski.
