Originally the building was a meierhof of a hunting lodge, which was first mentioned in a document in 1396. The castle was built in the 16th and 17th centuries and its core has been preserved. Conversions and additions took place in the late 18th century and in the 1960s. Since 1994 the castle has belonged to the Order of the Servants of Jesus and Mary (SJM - Servi Jesu et Mariae). In 1996 the first members moved into what is now the Auhof Monastery. In the following years, extensive reconstruction and renovation work was carried out. In 2018 the novitiate of the order left the Auhof and moved to Haus Assen in Germany.

A hiking map is always helpful if you still can not find your way around and would like to have a nice round.

Here at Ausee 3 there are many beautiful living options, but also beautiful views of the lake are possible, especially if you sit in front of the bistro on the shore in summer and enjoy the mood. Of course, bathing is also a pleasure here.

Here at the edge of the forest is a cozy wooden sitting area, from which you have a beautiful view of nearby Fürholz, but also to the faraway Ötscher. During our visit he had a snow cap.
