Footbridge which allows you to cross the Charente, which swells the waters of the beautiful Lavaud Gelade lake. It is one of the largest lakes in the Creuse, after Lake Vassivière. Wilder than the latter, it is located in the heart of the Millevaches Regional Natural Park and is classified as a Natura 2000 area.

Beautiful little village, historic houses, cute small shops and very old chirch. Small cafe in Front of chirch has good coffee and local goodies like cheese and other specialities.

This is the site of an ancient ironworks down a fairly steep track. There is car parking at the top, but if riding, you will need to dismount. The track ends in an open space at the centre of which is the most enormous plane tree. 6mt diameter trunk branches spreading 40 mts. It is quite breathtaking! Further exploration reveals another giant plane tree and a number of even more ancient yes trees. The stream at the bottom of the glade adds a lovely soundtrack to the place.

A crossing of the Charente which brings you very close to the edge of the water for beautiful views.
