A prosperous trading town since the Middle Ages, Vitré has preserved its well-preserved heritage. With its fortified castle, cobbled streets, and half-timbered houses, the town offers plenty to see and do, making it perfect for a stroll. It's the perfect place to soak up the Breton atmosphere.

The Château de Gazon was rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century on the site of an old medieval stronghold. The chateau also included a farmhouse which, unfortunately, today sits at the bottom of Lake Cantache.

The Cantache pond is a relatively recent creation, created in 1995 by the creation of the Cantache dam built the same year.

The unmissable Cantache lake, which unfortunately, road cyclists, you'll only see from the road 😅. You'll need to put on your 30mm tires to be able to go around and enjoy the trails that wind around this reservoir. Sincerely 🫶
