Beautiful hike from Rimbach pres Masevaux. Large car park by the church. After the restaurant opposite, walk a few more steps uphill. There, a hiking sign turns left. Beautiful hillside path with a view of the village. On the way, you can visit a chapel worth seeing. At the end of the village, a stony path leads uphill to the lakes. A wall separates the two lakes. Two rocks offer an elevated place to rest. The hiking trail turns left to the Ferme Auberge Gresson and turns right uphill to Lac Perche (Star Lake).

This ferme auberge is really recommendable! Clean rooms, warm shower - very pleasant after the hike and, above all, very good cuisine, both the 4-course menu in the evening and the rich breakfast in the morning. And the whole thing is topped by a very friendly team that runs the ferme. The only small downer: people who are taller than 190 cm could have problems with the beds. Or they do it like me and lie slightly diagonally 🙂

Beautiful cabin / shelter (refuge in French) on the slopes of the Vosges mountains just above the town of Masevaux. The shelter has windows and a door, there's a stove and even a balcony with beautiful view and benches to sit on. There's a grill, there's tapwater from the source... It's not easy to sleep when there are several of you, as the tables and benches can't be moved. You can try sleeping on or under a table. It's doable; we've done it! If you use wood to make a fire, remember to cut some for the next ones. Please don't cut down living trees; there's always dead wood around. It's quick and always a pleasure!
