Be careful, if in summer it is a fairly easy passage, in winter, as the surrounding slopes are steep, it is more prudent to have crampons

1st easy part, no problem with children (better to rope them if small), 2nd part much more gassy. Return path to be avoided on rainy days (slippery mud)

Magnificent avenue of century-old ash trees. Unfortunately, as of 2022, more than half of them had to be uprooted, almost 2/3 because of Asian fungi dating from 2008 which make them fragile (they break and fall) and kill them. Link with global warming...very possible... The ONF is trying to save what is and replant...let's hope it works. From the Correrie museum to the monastery, about 1km and between 15 and 30 minutes.

Open since 1957, the Grande Chartreuse museum bears witness to the life of the Carthusians. The first monks settled in the valley in 1087 before gradually developing and shaping it. As the monastery is not accessible to the public, this museum provides a good overview of their way of life.

Culminating at 2,026 meters above sea level, the Grand Som is one of the emblematic peaks of the Chartreuse. Located in the heart of the massif, it offers a variety of extraordinary views. It is possible to access it in a loop, but the round trip from the Col de Bonivant is more interesting for a trail outing.
