A truly impressive place, a must-see if you've ever been to this region. I also recommend taking the audio tour. Overnight stays are available at Camping & Gîtes En Campagne, 18 km west of Oradour-sur-Glane.

The composition of many such granite blocks is so heterogeneous that they age at different rates in different places due to weathering. This is also the case with this specimen. The depressions of the already eroded feldspar are clearly visible even if you stand a short distance from the rock – climbing is not necessary (if you want to, don't let that stop you).

A unique building in Europe, the Veyrac dovecote bridge was built on the Glanet in the 17th century and depended on an old castle. Comprising five arches, it is built on two levels. The first level provided access to the left bank on which the castle orchard was located. The second level was the dovecote, entered through a trap door.

Umpteenth visit to this site on this iconic site. It is true that you have to get up high to appreciate its contours, and perhaps accredit a part of the legend. to see on sunny days, when the rock is wet, climbing on it remains risky.
