The Einseling fortification is a single-block fortified structure of the Maginot Line located in the fortified sector of Faulquemont, between the communes of Bambiderstroff and Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. Its name comes from the Finselingerberg hill on which it is built. When it was projected by the CORF in the 1930s, the army used old German maps where the Gothic script annotations were misinterpreted: the F in Finseling was transformed into an E.

This place is worth a minute of reflection.

This typical castle of classicism was built in the 18th century. Property of the Pange family, it is entrusted to an association responsible for making it a house of arts, encounters and cultures. This memorial makes it possible to remember the resistance fighters and deportees of the Second World War from Longeville-lès-Saint-Avold. A pretty clear path leads there.

The castle dates from 1720 and was the residence of the Marquis de Pange. It is still family-owned today and unfortunately (currently) not open to the public.
