Built in 1876, the tower was topped with a pointed roof. At the time, it served as a hunting meeting place for a local notary, Master Matagrin, then became a drinking establishment and even welcomed dance enthusiasts. A Napoleonic terminal was inserted next to the entrance door with the inscription: "Point trigo Napoléon Empereur Nov 1812".

Magnificent castle on a bend in the Loire, built on a rocky outcrop often hidden by water. It was not always in this shape in the 18th century, it began to fall into ruin before an industrialist from Roanne restored it to make it a second home. It was and still is often the victim of floods and the Villerest dam in 1984 condemned it. However, it is still there for the greatest pleasure of our eyes!
