This castle is a marvel when you arrive in Montfort from any side. It overlooks the Dordogne in a majestic way. It is also clearly visible from the Montfort loop, which is a delight for cycling or, I imagine, motorcycling too. There is a single road for cars and bicycles. Like all the sites in the area, it is magnificent to visit in the early morning during the golden hour for the colors and tranquility.

Montfort Castle, perched on a rocky spur above the Dordogne Valley, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. This medieval castle, with its soaring towers and stone walls, seems to have come straight out of a fairy tale. Below, the river meanders through meadows and forests, creating an idyllic setting. A perfect place for a romantic stroll or a contemplative break!

A great view of the Château Belcastel and the bridge, which is only half-existing. But be careful of the hotel "Le Pont de L'Ouysse", the path is about 50m deep with gravel, so it's best to push your bike.
