The route is easy to do, not too difficult. Beautiful route with multiple streams coming from the mountains. Especially the waterfall as on the highlight is beautiful.

The Sioule is a French river in the north of the Massif Central. It rises (altitude 1093 m) near the Lac de Servières in the Monts Dore massif. It flows first in a northerly direction and then in a north-easterly direction from Pont-de-Menat (near the village of Menat, before Ébreuil). Chartreuse Port-Sainte-Marie is a former Carthusian monastery founded in 1219 in Auvergne at the end of the Sioule valley. It is located on the road between Les Ancizes and Saint-Jacques-d'Ambur. Very close to Pontaumur, the Sioulet gorges are an ideal wild place for nature lovers.

The ford on this stream can be bypassed via the bridge located just next to it.
