The Marc-Seguin footbridge was built by Marc Seguin between 1847 and 1849. It is a wider and higher version of the first suspension bridge he had built next door in 1825 (destroyed in 1965). The footbridge, formerly a road bridge, has been used solely as a pedestrian bridge and then also as a cyclist bridge since the construction of the modern Gustave Toursier bridge in 1958.
