Marked climb starting from Grand-Aigueblanche

A beautiful bike path connects Moutiers with Aigueblanche, allowing you to cross the narrow valley without crossing the very dangerous road with cars. The bike path is narrow, and you need to be careful with possible rockfalls that accumulate in the middle of the path. You need to pay close attention to enter the path and follow it to the end.

The last 5km on the cycle path are really challenging, with climbs up to 22 percent steep. So pace yourself wisely! The view up there makes up for the effort, and there's a restaurant there too!

At the foot of the winding road to Notre Dame du Pré, stands this chapel built atop an isolated rock. Until 1600, the Château Saint Jacques occupied this ideal location, overlooking the valley. The neo-Gothic chapel, dedicated to Saint Jacques de Tarentaise, was built in 1898 using stones from the now-defunct château.

The ascent of the Col de la Loze from Brides-les-Bains is a variation of the classic climb from Méribel. Twelve kilometers are added for a total of 22.5 kilometers at 7.6%.
