The site is clean and very well maintained. Easy parking on site and several reasons to go there: the greenway, the Museoparc du Marinier with its mini golf, its water games and its barge-museum and the restaurants with terrace overlooking the port.

The port of Briennon has been converted into a pretty marina. It is located on the Roanne to Digoin canal just a few hundred meters from the Loire.

Here we find the Briennon lock which regulates the flow of the Roanne canal which runs along the Véloire, a cycle route built on the old towpath. It is a quiet canal surrounded by exceptional flora and fauna.

The Roanne to Digoin canal was built between 1830 and 1836 and extends for approximately 55 kilometres. Nicknamed the "quiet canal", it has remained wild and its banks are home to remarkable flora and fauna. A good part of the canal is bordered by a towpath, but this section of more than 5 kilometers south of Briennon rests on an asphalt cycle path in perfect condition.

The port of Briennon experienced significant growth thanks to the construction of the Roanne-Digoin canal in the 19th century. Nowadays, it has been converted into a pretty marina. It is located on the Roanne to Digoin canal and only a few hundred meters from the Loire.
