Many churches in France, including this chapel, are dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the widely used title "Notre-Dame" (in German: "Our Dear Lady"). A brief reflection on the Mother of God by Albino Luciani (Pope John Paul I): + "Mary is truly our sister, as Saint Ambrose says. She lived a life very similar to ours. It is, of course, beautiful to venerate Mary as the Virgin and Mother of God, as the one conceived immaculately from original sin and assumed into heaven; but she is also the Madonna of plates, brooms, and cooking pots..." Visitors to the small Marian shrine can decide for themselves which "Notre-Dame" they wish to venerate here.

From an architectural and historical point of view, the most important building in the municipality of Landry is the church, with its remarkable location on a rocky outcrop overlooking the entire village. The Montrigon Bridge crosses the Isère River and provides access to various trails along the river or up to Les Arcs. The funicular railway can also be seen ascending to the resort. A lovely starting point for mountain biking.

This splendid greenway offers a multitude of landscapes. The peaks of the Tarentaise Valley around you are superb, as are the forests, whitewater pools, and swimming area that you pass.

Very nice. However, be careful, the first part of the loop remains technical: very technical, narrow path, often strewn with stones, tree roots, and other things. A trial session more suited to walking than cycling for beginners.

Small chapel oratory built near the beneficial spring and part of the site of the sanctuary of Notre Dame des Vernettes. Nestled in the mountain at an altitude of 1816 meters, the view from the chapel on the Bellecôte massif is magnificent.

Great cycle path between Bourg St-Maurice and Aime! Good asphalt, which is currently being repaired. Coming from Bourg St-Maurice, it is a steady, gentle downhill path.

Located in the heart of the Haute-Tarentaise, Peisey is a small mountain town perched on a sublime valley overlooking the Isère. The town has on its territory the Mont Pourri which rises to 3,779 meters above sea level, and from which you can see the Aiguille Rousse or the summit of Bellecôte.

Valley floors are usually grim in France but this voie verte is just awesome

Quiet option, to avoid the busy road uphill. The noisy motorbikes and smoking cars are a nightmare. Race-fans drivers are something in route to Col de L’Iseran.

Not as smooth as it looks like (if you run 25mm wide tyres) but a great alternative to the main road

Magnificent place below the Aiguille Rouge heading down towards Pesey. Be careful, rather exposed and steep. Narrow paths without danger but slippery from loose stones. Foot on required!
