Why is this listed as a cycling segment?

In normal times, the Turia refuge has 19 beds and a kitchen area. From May 2025, it will be completely closed to the public (even the picnic room and the emergency shelter) and will reopen its doors in June 2026. Stay informed on the refuge website.

The La Martin refuge is superbly installed in a magnificent green setting. The atmosphere is very pleasant, you can play board games or pick a book from the library. This village is destitute but beautiful. You can or should park at the entrance to the village coming from the valley. After that there are few options. Nothing is staged, everything is real. mountain village.

The cross can be seen for a very long time during the ascent. It motivates you in the final meters. The view of Mt. Blanc is very nice.

A ruin: After the tough ascent from La Gurraz, you are unpreparedly rewarded by the view of both the Tignes dam and the glacier. You are bound to take a break!

You have absolutely no idea how much water runs out of such a glacier.
