What a lovely little valley with a waterfall at the end, even though there wasn't much water in early spring, but no matter, the detour was worth it.

The charming old church of St. Chrischona sits atop the highest point (522 m) of the mountain of the same name. The current building dates from the 15th and early 16th centuries. Today it is a Reformed church, where weddings and other services are permitted. The church tower offers a viewing platform accessible via 71 steps. On a clear day, one can enjoy panoramic views of the Vosges Mountains, the Black Forest, the Jura Mountains, and the Alps. An earlier predecessor building is believed to have existed as early as the 7th century.

The St. Chrischona television tower, also known as the St. Chrischona transmitting station, is a 250-meter-high television tower operated by Swisscom in the municipality of Bettingen, northeast of Basel. Its topographically advantageous location on the St. Chrischona mountain, from which it takes its name, makes the tower a crucial component in broadcasting coverage for northwestern Switzerland. The entire area around St. Chrischona is always worth a visit. It's incredibly diverse, and if the weather is good, you'll be treated to breathtaking views in every direction.
