With its colorful facades on the banks of the Loire, Roanne exudes a touch of Dolce Vita.

The 17th-century Château de la Roche, with its tower and keep, is the landmark of the Loire Gorge. Its atypical location in the heart of the Loire River makes it an exceptional sight.

The church dates back to the 19th century and was restored in 1998. It is dedicated to Saint Taurin. The bell tower resembles a square defensive tower. Columns separate the vaults, and the choir is circular.

The town hall is a historic building serving the town's residents. At the suggestion of the Duke of Persigny, the mayor of Roanne, Charles Boullier, decided to build a new town hall for the entire population. Work began in 1865 and was completed in 1874. A delay occurred due to the war of 1870. Today, the town hall houses the various municipal and state departments, as well as council chambers.

Beautiful, well-preserved church with large stained glass windows. Pilgrims can get their pilgrim passport stamped in this church.

The church of Saint-Maurice, whose origins date back to the 18th century, was the chapel of the castle, hence the name of the castle chapel. Inside the church, on the right-hand side, in a bay window, there is a wall fresco of Saint James with pilgrim's cloak and staff, which was discovered during restoration work in 1999.
