Beautiful descent to Gex. Highly recommended.

Perched at an altitude of 1,323 metres, the Col de la Faucille welcomes you with a 360-degree panorama of the Alps and the Valserine Valley. Whether you attack it from the north or the south, the spectacle is not long in coming. Its ascent from the south, on the road to Gex, has the appearance of a great Alpine pass with its many bends and countless views of the Mont-Blanc massif.

In front of the restaurant Le refuge du Florimont, you have a sublime view of the Mont-Blanc massif. You can also see Lake Geneva. Between its foreground and background, you can also admire the Aravis, Chablais and the Vaud Alps.

Half way along this climb/descent, there's a a seating area with a superb view out to Lac Léman. Take a moment to take in this scenery!

A greenway frequented by pedestrians

A Sunday in July, not too much traffic, but the cars and motorcycles go fast. Arriving at the top, a fire engine rushes past me, I discover a cyclist lying on the side, his bike tumbling... The view is beautiful at the top, but doesn't really offer a viewpoint, and the climb is blocked by the forest. The descent towards the lake however is nice.

Even though the public no longer has direct access to the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we found the visit to CERN extremely interesting. During the tour we booked, we were captivated by the lively explanations of a British scientist who was involved in the discovery of the Higgs boson and therefore had authentic information to offer. In addition to the well-designed museum, we even got a glimpse into the control room of the Atlas experiment. Conclusion: a very interesting excursion for those interested in science!
